EDGE Program

Coordinator:(772) 287-2727 ext. 107

Goals and Purpose:  Have you ever had fun with your faith?  Our Middle School students are invited to a faith experience designed just for them. Combining Catholic Catechesis with a Youth Group atmosphere, the EDGE program is built to cater to the educational and spiritual needs of Middle School students.

In high-energy games, moving spiritual exercises and introspective activities, our students are invited to a deeper relationship with Christ and a clearer understanding  of the Catholic Faith.

Helpful Attributes: Good adult role models who love interacting with students; practicing Catholics with knowledge of the Catholic Faith.

Time Commitment: 6:00-7:30pm, one day a week.

Fingerprinting Required: Yes. The Diocese requires adults who work with minors to go through two steps when entering ministry. First, they must be fingerprinted by the Diocese (www.diocesepb.org lists locations for fingerprinting). Second, each adult volunteer must attend a seminar called "Protecting God's Children" which help adults spot signs of abuse and traits of abusers in order to better protect our students. Additional training may be required to help volunteers acquire solid Youth Ministry skills to effectively reach our teens.

Meeting Schedule: One session a month, planning session once a month.
