Stewardship

Stewardship: A Way of Life at St. Joseph Catholic Church

At St. Joseph Catholic Church, stewardship is a way of life—a joyful and faithful response to God’s abundant love and blessings. As disciples of Christ, we are called to live with gratitude, using our time and God-given talents to serve others and build up His kingdom.

Stewardship is about recognizing that everything we have is a gift from God, and we are called to use those gifts in ways that reflect His goodness and love. It's not simply about what we do, but how we live—intentionally, prayerfully, and with hearts open to service.

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another,
as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”
— 1 Peter 4:10

 What Does Stewardship Look Like?

At its core, stewardship invites us to live as active disciples, using our lives to glorify God and serve His people. It calls us into a deeper relationship with Christ and with one another.

We live out stewardship by:

  • Praying daily and cultivating a personal relationship with God.
  • Participating fully in parish life, especially through the Sacraments and Sunday Mass.
  • Serving in ministries and sharing our God-given talents for the good of others.

The Three Pillars of Stewardship

Time: Our time is one of our most precious gifts. Stewardship begins with spending time with God in prayer, reflection, and worship. This time strengthens our hearts and centers our lives on what matters most—our relationship with Christ.

Talent: Each of us is uniquely gifted. Whether it is teaching, listening, creating, leading, or serving—your talents are needed. When you offer your abilities in service to the parish, you become the hands and feet of Christ within our community.

Treasure: We are called to place God first in all aspects of our lives—including how we relate to the material world. Offering our “treasure” is about living with generosity and trust, sharing what we value in order to support God’s work. It is not about amount—it is about the heart with which we give and our willingness to serve something greater than ourselves.
